Donation of Sound Equipments

Mr P.A Senanayake & Mr K.C Senanayake donated sound equipment worth 0.2Mn in memory of their loving mother late Mrs A. Senanayeke.She served as a teacher of the College during 1971-1980 period. These equipment will be used in the newly opened Kannangara Memorial Hall.

Dr C.W.W Kannangara Hall

Grand reception & bestowing of honour to His excellency The President Of Democratic Socialist Republic Of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ceremonial opening of the Dr C.W.W Kannangara Multi Purpose Memorial Hall and the unveiling of the plaque of the Southern Province Swimming Pool by the President will be held on the 06th of April 2006 at 03:00 p.m.

International Standard Swimming Pool

Construction work of a 9 lane international standard swimming pool started on 15th of Feb 2006.This pool is being constructed by Tech Waters (PVT) Ltd at a cost of Rs 12 Mn and the funding will be done by The Southern Province Sports Ministry. The college has offered a 60p land through the Ministry Of Education. The pool will be available for the use of students and members of the RCOBA.Minister of Education for the Southern Province Mr V. K Indika who is also an old boy of the College was instrumental in this regard.

Richmond - Mahinda old boys’ cricket match

Richmond - Mahinda old boys’ cricket match was palyed on 09th of March 2006 at The Galle International Stadium.

Mahinda batting first scored 191/7 in their 30 overs. Duminda Wickramasinghe scored an unbeaten 123.

Richmond won the match scoring 198/6 in the 29th over. C.K Hewamanna scored 112 n.o.
